About the CIEHF

The Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF) is the home and voice for ergonomics and human factors professionals offering peer-to-peer networking, thought leadership, accreditation, training and professional development opportunities. Our purpose is to help human factors professionals make life better and safer for people and society. Our members work in many sectors, including healthcare, transport, defence, energy and manufacturing.

Role Purpose

As the Learning Services Manager, you will work closely with the Head of L&D to deliver high-quality learning resources and professional development opportunities to CIEHF members. This role involves learner support, course development, assessment coordination, and contributing to the accreditation process, helping to ensure all CIEHF learning services provide value to our members.

Key Responsibilities

Learner Management: Respond promptly to learner enquiries and oversee the onboarding process for new learners, managing their course enrolments. Share relevant updates with learners, including details of upcoming events and learning opportunities.

Assessment Support: Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of assessors, examiners, and learning mentors, while tracking their continuous professional development (CPD). Ensure that assessors and examiners meet their ongoing training and development requirements.

Course Development & Delivery: Support course development efforts by coordinating communications and updates with stakeholders. Maintain and update internal learning and development processes, ensuring all documentation is current. Help evaluate and test new learning resources and manage content updates on the Learning Managment System. Contribute to the quality assurance process to promote continual improvement.

Training & Course Accreditation: Manage the accreditation, certification and reaccreditation processes of CIEHF courses, ensuring they meet industry standards. Collaborate with the finance team to process licensing fees for accredited courses.

Annual CPD Assessment: Ensure the smooth operation of the annual CPD assessment process, providing guidance to members on completing their CPD requirements and tracking their progress throughout the year.

Relationship Management: Assist in managing relationships with training partners and external vendors, ensuring effective communication and support. Respond to enquiries about the L&D offerings and assist in fostering partnerships with external organisations.

Data & Insights: Contribute to quarterly management reports by analysing and reporting on learner data. Use learning analytics to monitor learner progress and implement data-driven adjustments to enhance the effectiveness of learning programmes.

Person Specification

Knowledge & Skills

  • Minimum of 4 GCSEs (grade C / 4 and above) or equivalent qualifications.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to operate efficiently and provide high-quality service.
  • Understanding of data management and experience delivering new services.

  • Professional, approachable, and friendly demeanour.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and adapt quickly to changing needs.
  • Sound judgement and analytical skills to support informed decision-making.
