Are you an experienced digital health professional who enjoys working collaboratively? We have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Digital Health IT Coordinator for an innovative cancer research programme.
This post is funded by the Yorkshire Cancer Research Sheffield Pioneers Scheme for research aimed at developing digital health-based management of immunotherapy toxicity. In the last decade immunotherapy has revolutionised treatment for certain cancers and the therapy is increasingly being used in many other cancers and earlier in the cancer treatment pathway. However, in many patients, the great benefits of immunotherapy can be accompanied by unwanted toxicity or side effects which can be serious and even life-threatening. Our Programme will develop an optimised digital health approach to management of this toxicity, rigorously testing the new approach in a randomised clinical trial, with hope to roll out nationally.
In order to deliver the Programme successfully, we are assembling a multidisciplinary team drawn from within and outside the University of Sheffield, including collaborations with partners in other Universities, the NHS and in the IT industry. The Digital Health IT Coordinator role is a key post to provide the support needed to ensure timely and effective development, integration, testing and deployment of a remote monitoring software platform (called Ascelus) to support the clinical management of patients undergoing immunotherapy treatment. You will collaborate closely with clinicians, researchers, developers and IT teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance of the platform.
Educated to honours degree level in a relevant subject, you will have a depth of experience in applications of digital health and/or relevant areas.
You will also be expected to possess (or to obtain) a NHS Research Passport so as to be able to carry out patient-facing duties, including working with patients and their data in a secure and confidential manner.
