About the role

The Bodleian Libraries is looking to recruit an inspiring and self-motivated individual to work as the Reader Services Supervisor at the Bodleian Japanese Library.  You will supervise and oversee the work of Library Assistants and responsible for the day to day running of the enquiry and service desk. You will have good knowledge of Japanese language and play a key role in the delivery of high-quality information services to readers, providing specialist support to staff and students in Japanese Studies. As a member of a small team of staff, you will work collaboratively within the East Asian Section working across two site libraries. You will be expected to play a key role in projects to improve the Library whilst carrying out a wide range of administrative duties. You will have the ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload whilst upholding the Library’s strong commitment to providing outstanding customer service at all times. You will be a flexible and approachable individual to assist in the day-to-day running of the Bodleian Japanese Library and Bodleian KB Chen China Centre Library.

Due to the nature of duties involved, the post doesn’t support remote or home working.

You will be an approachable individual to assist in the day-to-day running of the Bodleian Japanese Library and Bodleian KB Chen China Centre Library.
