The Vision Group, part of the Centre for Integrative Neuroimaging, Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences, seeks a Research Assistant to support a study investigating the potential of virtual reality systems for rehabilitation of stroke affecting the visual system.
In collaboration with the research team and a virtual reality programming company, Harmony, the research assistant will help to design a suite a training programs that will then be tested by both an advisory group and then as part of small studies. The main role will be to recruit and interact with participants in the studies. They will be responsible for vision testing when participants come to the OxCIN Centre, providing support remotely while participants train in their own homes and then collecting feedback about the useability of the VR programs.
The RA will additionally help to write and administer all ethical approvals for the study, ensuring that information is communicated, logged and up-to-date. While most testing will take place during the working day, some flexibility of working hours may be required where participants need to be tested at the weekend or in the evening.
More generally, the RA will be working at the OxCIN Annexe building in Headington, and will participate in lab weekly lab meetings and other activities within the Vision Group.
The position is an excellent opportunity for a candidate interested in gaining research experience with participants, specifically relating to the potential of virtual reality training in a clinical environment. There will also be opportunities to benefit from the extensive training courses available both within the department and wider University.

The post is full time for a fixed term of 10 months until 30th June 2026. The post is available from 1st September 2025.
