Are you a hands-on technology and data specialist ready to make a difference in cutting-edge medical research?
The Medical Sciences Division IT Services at the University of Oxford is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Bioresource Technical Lead to support the digital backbone of our biomedical research and biobank operations.
In this role, you’ll be the go-to technical expert for platforms like OpenSpecimen (LIMS), REDCap (data capture), and iPassport (quality management)—configuring, integrating, and supporting these systems so they run smoothly, securely, and compliantly. You’ll work closely with researchers, lab teams, and IT colleagues to ensure data is accurate, platforms are resilient, and services are audit-ready.
This is a rare opportunity to apply your technical skills in a real-world setting where research excellence meets tight governance. You’ll be instrumental in supporting studies and operations regulated by the Human Tissue Authority (HTA), contributing to Oxford’s world-leading research into human health and disease.
What we’re looking for:
This is a technical, hands-on role, reporting to the Bioresource IT Service Manager, and you’ll be part of a vibrant team of IT professionals supporting a wide range of research activities across multiple departments.
This post is available full time on a permanent basis. Flexible working available with a minimum of 3 days per week on site.
Why join us?
You’ll be working at the intersection of IT, research, and compliance—helping world-class scientists do their best work while ensuring it’s done securely and ethically. We offer a collaborative environment, opportunities for growth, and the satisfaction of knowing your work underpins some of the most important medical research in the world.
