Aston University is seeking a Programme Coordinator to support the expanded Midlands SPARK Innovation Accelerator. This exciting initiative is the UK’s first extension of Stanford University’s renowned SPARK Preclinical Accelerator Programme, which operates in over 60 locations worldwide. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and delivering translational and preclinical development projects led by academics, clinicians, and industry partners from 15 Midlands universities.
The role involves ensuring that projects have strong regulatory strategies, with a particular focus on diagnostic technologies and compliance with the In Vitro Diagnostic Regulation (IVDR) and other relevant international standards. The Programme Coordinator will facilitate the alignment of projects with regulatory frameworks and commercialisation pathways, preparing them for engagement with investors and the market. This position requires operational coordination and stakeholder management to drive progress and foster collaboration between academic and commercial teams. Occasional travel across the Midlands region will be necessary to support programme activities and build strong relationships with partner institutions.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of translational research and preclinical development, as well as knowledge of regulatory requirements for diagnostic technologies. Experience in project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and operational management is essential, along with excellent communication and organisational skills. The ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment is also important.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to advancing innovative healthcare technologies and driving impactful translational research across the Midlands.
