Salary:  

Lecturer Grade F: £40,497 to £45,413 per annum

Senior Lecturer Grade G: £46,735 to £55,755 per annum

Senior Lecturer Grade H: £57,422 to £66,537 per annum

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join us at a pivotal time. We are launching a new Aerospace Engineering degree, homed within School of Engineering, the programme builds on the School’s established strengths in fluid dynamics, materials, intelligent sensing, advanced manufacturing and electrical power systems and will be delivered from the new £110 million Stephenson Building in the heart of Newcastle.

Our research community works across disciplines to tackle global challenges in sustainable energy, transport, and advanced manufacturing.

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Experimental Aerodynamics. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the leading Engineering Schools in the UK.

The successful candidate will join a leading team of experts in Fluid Dynamics and Thermal Systems that specialises in cutting edge Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations and modelling. The research strength of the Group lies in the high-fidelity CFD simulations and modelling of turbulent reacting and multiphase flows relevant to energy-efficient and environment-friendly power generation and propulsion, manufacturing and bioengineering applications. This research supports the School's strong track record of national and international research collaborations, with strategic partnerships in key areas tackling global challenges in sustainable energy, transport, and advanced manufacturing. We are keen to reinforce the Fluid Dynamics and Thermal Systems research group to build experimental expertise in aerodynamics to complement the existing expertise in computational modelling.

We particularly welcome applicants whose work contributes to the future of sustainable aviation and who bring experimental expertise in aerodynamics, propulsion and thermofluid systems for aircraft/spacecraft.
