Aston Business School, part of Aston University, is seeking to appoint a motivated, ambitious, and collegial Lecturer in International Business. Based in the heart of Birmingham—one of the UK’s most diverse and vibrant cities—this is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving academic community committed to excellence in teaching, impactful research, and societal engagement.
We welcome applicants with a strong academic profile and a passion for teaching and research in the field of International Business. You will contribute to our highly regarded undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including our popular MSc in International Business and joint degrees such as BSc International Business and Management, and BSc International Business and Economics. The successful candidate will also be expected to engage actively in research, secure funding, and publish in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals.
Our academic community has a strong presence at the Academy of International Business (AIB), including AIB UK&I and the AIB World Conference. We value applied, policy-relevant, and impactful research, particularly in areas such as international trade, global value chains, regional and urban economics, innovation, taxation, and competition. Candidates with complementary expertise and a quantitative research background will find a supportive and collaborative environment here.
You will join a department committed to collegiality and impact. We are home to the Centre for Business Prosperity, which offers opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration and stakeholder engagement. We also invest in key research infrastructure, including access to resources such as ORBIS.
What we offer:
We are proud to be a university that actively promotes equality, diversity, and inclusion. Aston University is a recipient of the Athena SWAN Gold Award and is strongly committed to non-discrimination and equality of opportunity across all areas of university life. We especially encourage applications from individuals in underrepresented groups within academia.
