About The Role
We are seeking to recruit a Lecturer in Film and Television to join our team within the School of Film and Television in our purpose-built facility at the Penryn campus, Cornwall.
This is a CILECT accredited facility, working within the ScreenSkills accredited BA Film, BA Television & Film Production courses, in addition to postgraduate provision and PhD students. Our community of committed scholars and professionals ensure that our constantly evolving courses are informed by the latest academic scholarship and the demands of a vibrant industry environment. You will primarily be working with large and diverse cohorts as Module Leader for complex (and core to curriculum delivery) first year practice modules and contributing to a second-year practice strand (ideally in Narrative Filmmaking) as well as supervising final year practice projects and assisting in the pastoral care of undergraduates.
About You
Teaching primarily on our undergraduate course in BA Film, and with the opportunity to contribute to our taught post-graduate provision, you will possess a Master's degree in a relevant subject area. An interest in developing the School’s links with industry is desirable, as are any research interests centered in screen/audiovisual production, industrial contexts, production and pedagogy. You will have a professional and/or creative practice background relevant to the screen industries. Experience in the producing, writing and/or directing fields would be an advantage.
Alongside these key skills, you will be an enthusiastic educator and an organized, capable administrator with a record of assisting undergraduate students in finding their voice and realizing their ambitions.
This is a permanent, full-time, 35 hours per week position based in person at our Penryn campus, across Monday to Friday.
We are seeking a candidate with the ability to start in early September.
The closing date for the position is Sunday 10 August 2025.
It is anticipated that interviews will be held the week commencing 18 August 2025.
