- ABOUT US -

We are a university with a national and international reputation for excellence, innovation and regional engagement, making a major contribution to the economic, social and cultural development of Northern Ireland.

Our core business activities are teaching and learning, widening access to education, research and innovation and technology and knowledge transfer.

- THE ROLE -

Working with the Director of Global Engagement and the Pro-Vice Chancellor and Executive Dean for Global Partnerships, the Head of Global Recruitment will lead on the development and delivery of the University’s international recruitment and associated targets under the Global Engagement strategy. They will adopt full leadership of the University's overall activity in this area, and work closely with internal, senior stakeholders to ensure that all such work aligns fully with the University's wider internationalisation objectives and targets.

The role requires substantial experience in international student recruitment within a UK university, including travel, market research, and analysis. The successful candidate must be proactive, prioritise effectively, and work independently in a fast-paced, complex environment. Expertise in the full international student journey—pre-arrival to post-study—is essential, along with the ability to address sector challenges and implement effective strategies. Some international travel is required, and the candidate must demonstrate agility and autonomy in a dynamic external landscape. The appointed person will be responsible for managing staff within the recruitment team, as well as staff located overseas.

- ABOUT YOU -

- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification.
- Significant on and offline student recruitment experience, gained within a higher education environment.
- Experience of managing large and complex budgets.
- Experience of motivating teams domestically and internationally, toward ambitious targets whilst supporting high performance.
- Proven experience conducting market research and data analysis to assess recruitment opportunities, development business cases and evaluate ROI.
- Willingness to travel internationally for up to 12 weeks a year.
