About the Role
The EDI Manager roles have dual responsibility:
The role holder will take responsibility for leading a priority workstream on Workforce Representation & Belonging at the institutional level, providing subject matter expertise, and maintaining an intersectional approach, to deliver aspects of our Culture & Inclusion (C&I) Enabling Plan. A key deliverable for the team over the duration of this contract is an Athena Swan Gold institutional application, for which preparation has begun.
The role holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of two EDI Officers, supporting them to be their very best at Queen Mary, and will play a key role in supporting the Associate Director to foster a culture of inclusion and continuous development within the team.
Please note: this is a 1 year fixed term opportunity whilst the incumbent takes maternity leave; the optimal start date would be early December, providing a handover period.
About You
To be successful in this role, you'll be required to build on an existing track record of planning, managing and evaluating EDI projects, including delivery through others. You'll be confident operating as a subject matter expert, providing recommendations to leaders and governance groups to shape and drive a strategic approach to change and transformation.
Whilst not essential for the role, we would welcome interest from candidates with experience leading Athena Swan applications, at Gold/Silver level, to impact gender equality.

Our reformer heritage informs our conviction that great ideas can and should come from anywhere. It’s an approach that has brought results across the globe, from the communities of east London to the favelas of Rio de Janeiro.
We continue to embrace diversity of thought and opinion in everything we do, in the belief that when views collide, disciplines interact, and perspectives intersect, truly original thought takes form.
