About us
The UCL Institute for Global Health (IGH) is at the heart of UCL’s Grand Challenge of Global Health. The Institute’s vision is for a world where international policy on global health is informed by world class research. IGH aims to support the development of robust solutions to aspects of the world’s major global health challenges through scholarly outputs, education, public engagement, translational research and ultimately by influencing public policy and professional practice.
This post is based in the UCL Centre for Clinical Research in Infection and Sexual Health. The Centre has a research programme covering a wide range of studies from observational cohort studies, qualitative and mixed methods studies to intervention trials. Historically most of the work has focused on HIV and other sexually transmitted infections including viral hepatitis. Recently we have expanded our portfolio of infectious diseases research particularly to support studies in TB and COVID-19, and most recently Mpox infection.
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Research Nurse to join our dynamic team and gain broad experience in a clinical research setting.
About the role
The postholder will be part of a team, currently comprising seven research nurses, and work closely with clinicians, non-clinical research associates and other members of the clinical research team. The main purpose of the role will be responsibility for participant recruitment and completing study procedures such as completion of questionnaires, blood and other sample collection and clinical procedures as specified in the study protocol. Research nurses in the team may be allocated to any of the portfolio of 15-20 current studies.
The role is full time (i.e. 36.5 hours per week) and is available immediately for 12 months in the first instance.
An acceptable enhanced DBS check is required to carry out this role.
Salary range: £43,981 - £52,586 per annum (including London Allowance), depending on experience.
