Responsibilities
We are recruiting for a lecturer with a focus on analytics who would contribute to the research and teaching at Bayes Business School. The faculty member will join the Operations and Supply Chain Management (O&SCM) Subject Group within the Faculty of Management. The Faculty of Management is the largest Business School faculty with more than 80 scholars and is proud of its exceptional diversity, thought leadership, and collegiality. It nurtures scholars who strive for international impact through their research, education, and service. The O&SCM group includes experts whose world-leading research encompasses digitalization, finance, risk, purchasing, revenue management and sustainability in the supply chain and operations. The scholars are methodologically diverse. The group's work is internationally recognised for both empirical and analytical research.
The purpose of this role is to contribute to the growing portfolio of analytics research and teaching at Bayes, including in the context of O&SCM. Our research focuses on developing and applying new analytical models and methods to improve managerial decision-making. Our teaching includes specialised undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in business analytics, as well as descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics techniques and applications across our full portfolio of undergraduate, MSc and MBA degrees.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise with modern data-collection tools, data-visualization frameworks, contemporary data-management technologies, business-analytics frameworks, deep-learning, generative-AI stacks, and MLOps platforms. The candidate will also show an understanding of recent developments and best practice in applying such tools in a management and O&SCM context. Evidence of delivering high quality and innovative education is required, as is a strong potential to publish research of world-leading or internationally excellent quality.
