Description of Post
This Senior Management position (Fixed term contract until 31 August 2030) requires a combination of high academic achievement with substantial relevant experience. The position will require significant organisational, leadership and communication skills.
The Faculty of Engineering and Computing is the largest faculty within ATU and is of strategic importance within ATU and the wider region. The School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, its staff, students and graduates play a huge role in the economic growth of the region, supporting large and small companies, as well as the start-up sector. The School has the potential to forge significant interdisciplinary linkages within and external to ATU, in terms of innovative teaching and learning opportunities, excellent research and knowledge transfer, and strong enterprise engagement.
The Head of School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering will be responsible for the overall strategic direction and continued development of the School, with a strong commitment to excellence. Particular emphasis will be placed on inter-disciplinary programmes, university-industry linkages, international activities, and flexible modes of delivery.

The Head of School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering will report to the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Computing. The Head of School of Engineering Apprenticeships will report to the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Computing.
