We are a world class research-intensive university. We deliver teaching and learning of the highest quality. We play a leading role in economic, social and cultural development of the North East of England. Attracting and retaining high-calibre people is fundamental to our continued success.
The Role
Newcastle University’s Policy Academy catalyses the impact of our research, supporting academics, professional staff and postgraduates from different disciplines to engage with policymakers, through the delivery of a programme of cross-cutting activities designed to connect research, policy and practice. The programme includes a suite of Foundation Workshops, Fellows Programme, Masterclasses and ‘In-Conversation-With’ events.
We are looking for a motivated individual who has the ability to work within a complex environment, with multiple stakeholders and to operate with a high degree of autonomy and initiative. You will be passionate about training and self-development, with a proven ability to quickly inspire confidence and build strong and open relationships.
Are you passionate about connecting ideas with action? Newcastle University is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to lead our Policy Academy within the Funding & Assurance Team.
As Policy Academy Manager, you'll play a key role in a thriving policy community, helping turn cutting-edge research into solutions that benefit society - locally, nationally, and internationally.
Our Policy Academy brings academics, professional staff, and postgraduates together with policymakers through a dynamic programme of activities, including Foundation Workshops, Fellows Programme, Masterclasses, and In-Conversation events. You'll be at the heart of designing and delivering initiatives that connect research, policy, and practice.
If you're passionate about training, learning, and building relationships - and want to be part of a team driving positive change - we'd love to hear from you.
You don't need to be a policy professional or have any specific policy-related qualifications/training experience to apply, although a passion and interest in the policy landscape is essential. We are looking for candidates who have the right skills for the role, including excellent project management or design & delivery of training programmes.
Informal enquiries are welcomed and should be directed to suzanne.robson@newcastle.ac.uk.
The post is full-time and permanent.
Interviews will be on Monday, 24th and Tuesday, 25th November.
