The University of Glasgow has been changing the world for more than 570 years, and today we are one of the world's top 100 universities. We are delighted to have recently been awarded Scottish University of the Year by the Times & Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024.
Our people have always been at the forefront of innovation, and our past achievements inspire our current world changers.
A Technician position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Christopher Moxon at the Centre for Parasitology, University of Glasgow. We are an innovative and exciting group investigating the role of host-parasite interactions in the immunopathogenesis of cerebral malaria. We are interested in the causes of blood-brain barrier involved in adverse outcome and in identifying treatment targets to improve outcome in patients. To do this, our lab uses a mixture of cutting-edge Omics and imaging approaches in patient samples and in vitro.
The post holder will manage and deliver high quality technical services for teaching laboratories including providing specialist technical expertise in the relevant discipline. You will have responsibility for the organisation and efficient usage of teaching lab space including day-to-day running of the lab[s], including equipment, apparatus and consumables and day-to-day management of specialist facilities and technical support staff. In addition, the post holder may be responsible for overseeing practical skills labs and workshops for students.
Informal enquiries should be directed to Christopher Moxon, Christopher.Moxon@glasgow.ac.uk
