University College (Univ) is seeking to appoint a highly competent and motivated IT Technical Manager to help deliver its IT provision to College students, Fellows, staff and visitors.
The post is part of an IT consortium responsible for the provision, management and availability of all IT services within the supported colleges, including Univ.
You will manage the IT team and support Univ in all areas of IT activity including software and hardware support; maintenance of the physical network (both wired and wireless); maintenance of College servers, CCTV and telephone systems. You will liaise with external companies and contractors providing software and hardware solutions; ensure compliance with IT policies; and support the College’s web-based activities.
The ideal candidate will have a track record or be currently working in a server/network infrastructure support role, have strong technical skills and be looking for a step up in terms of size of environment and/ or responsibility. You will have sound organisational, communication and interpersonal skills and excellent customer service awareness. The ability to manage staff and work collaboratively as part of a team is essential.
