Job description:
Make a real-world impact on cancer treatment through proof-of-market commercialisation research to assess the potential of cold atmospheric plasma as a novel treatment for head and neck cancer.
Join the cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) research group - a collaboration between the Schools of Clinical Dentistry and Mathematical and Physical Sciences at the University of Sheffield lead by Professors Craig Murdoch and Rob Short. This role offers an opportunity to work in the commercialisation space across cancer biology and physical chemistry to undertake proof-of-market research to identify the potential for CAP as a novel treatment for head and neck cancer.
You’ll be part of a dynamic, supportive, and forward-thinking research environment committed to making real clinical impact through innovation in cancer treatment and personalised medicine.
Your role will be to undertake proof-or-market research to establish potential markets and clinical needs for CAP anti-cancer therapy. You will undertake competitor analysis, review current intellectual property associated with CAP and help develop a regulatory strategy and commercialisation plan. You will aid in the establishment of value proposition and identify potential customers for CAP therapy as well as organise patient-public/stakeholder involvement and engagement meetings. Our group collaborates closely with patient groups and charities to ensure that the research remains clinically meaningful and grounded in patient impact.
We're looking for someone with knowledge of CAP and experience in commercialisation. You will join a collaborative, inclusive environment where your contributions will shape the future of cancer research. At the University of Sheffield, you’ll be part of a community that values innovation, diversity, and wellbeing. We offer an excellent benefits package, including generous annual leave, flexible working, a leading pension scheme, and a wide range of development and wellbeing support.
We build teams of people from different heritages and lifestyles from across the world, whose talent and contributions complement each other to greatest effect. We believe diversity in all its forms delivers greater impact through research, teaching and student experience.
