Events and Social Media Manager
Salary from £43,277 to £51,714 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £55,497 pa inclusive of London allowance
This is a fixed-term appointment for two years, with possibility for extension depending on future funding.
The Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment (GRI) has established a new Centre for Economic Transition Expertise (CETEx), focused on leveraging, strengthening and amplifying research, and developing well targeted policy analysis and other outputs, by convening policymakers, and by providing technical support, assistance and capacity-building. This new centre will support the reforms necessary to deliver sustainable, inclusive and resilient economies and financial systems around the world.
The Events and Social Media Manager will lead on the operational delivery of all CETEx events, ensuring they are executed to a high professional standard and represent value for money. This includes external-facing events both in the UK and internationally, requiring frequent travel and engagement with a wide range of stakeholders. The post holder will work closely with Principal Investigators, Project Managers, Policy and Research staff, colleagues across LSE, in-country partners and consultants and will be confident in coordinating a complex, multi-project portfolio.
Candidates will have demonstrable experience of planning and successfully delivering a large range of international events (large and small scale; virtual, hybrid, and in-person), and experience managing contracts, including supervising and coordinating the work of delivery partners, and ensuring compliance with third party platforms and vendors. Post holder should also have good experience of planning, writing, and implementing impactful social media activities and social media support for events to increase audience engagement and to reach out to new audiences. Financial literacy and the ability to build, manage and reconcile events budgets, and excellent and proficient IT skills, including proficient Excel skills, as well as Word, PowerPoint, etc. are essential to this post.
