Shared between a European and a national glycoscience network
This role will be based on the university campus. We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements.
Do you want to empower the next-generation of scientists? Do you want to be part of building new research and training networks in glycoscience across the UK and Europe? Are you passionate about science communication and student education?
This post will provide administration and organisation support to the European GLYCOCALYX Marie Sklodowska Curie Doctoral Network (MSCA DN), and the national UK-P/G Academy BBSRC Network, to advance glycoscience research.
The GLYCOCALYX Network will train 15 Doctoral Candidates across biology, chemistry and physics to stimulate new approaches, understanding and biomedical applications of sugary cell coats.
The UK-P/G Academy will create a one-stop platform for knowledge and skill sharing, and strategic development, to foster the UK’s leadership in proteoglycan and glycosaminoglycan research.
PhD fellows and network members will be trained by researchers across the networks, exposed to different sectors via planned placements, attend summer schools, and contribute to workshops and conferences.
You will support the GLYCOCALYX and UK-P/G Academy coordinators, and other partners, to deliver these objectives and will facilitate the smooth operation of the networks in liaison with local and external offices at partner institutes and the EU.
You should have a degree level qualification in science, engineering, business or project management, with an understanding of the research and technology sector, with previous experience of the management of similar academic projects at the EU or UK scale
