About the School of Nursing, Public and Allied Health

The School of Nursing, Public and Allied Health has been committed to advancing developments in health and social care for over 25 years, tracing our origins back to 1991 when the Liverpool School of Nursing and Midwifery joined with Liverpool Polytechnic. Today, we continue to strive to tackle health inequalities, social exclusion, and deprivation in local communities (and beyond) through our undergraduate and postgraduate curricula and a growing programme of international partnerships as well as providing both aspiring and experienced nursing and allied health professionals with the learning experiences and research opportunities needed to meet the demands of current and future healthcare landscapes.

We are a multi award-winning school, having won the Student Nursing Times Awards on three occasions since 2018.

What we’re looking for

Are you passionate about shaping the future of healthcare professionals? We are looking for enthusiastic Clinical Skills Tutors to make a contribution to our School of Nursing, Public and Allied Health.

Our school has recently opened a state-of-the-art, newly refurbished practice simulation building, designed to transform healthcare education. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering innovative, simulation-based learning experiences that prepare students for real-world challenges.

In this role, you will contribute to the development, delivery, and evaluation of clinical skills teaching, with a particular focus on urgent and acute care. You’ll utilise a wide range of simulation strategies to create engaging and effective learning environments, supporting students both individually and in groups as they develop essential transferable skills.

You will hold an Honours degree or an equivalent professional qualification and maintain current registration with the NMC or HCPC. Ideally, you will be familiar with transferable skills development and work-related learning within the higher education curriculum, and have experience supporting students individually and in groups to identify and develop these skills. A background in urgent or acute care is essential, along with excellent interpersonal skills that enable you to build strong, effective relationships with students, colleagues, and employers.

This is a key moment to join a welcoming, ambitious, and research-informed university community that places students at the heart of everything we do. We value and invest in our staff, offering meaningful opportunities for professional development, scholarship support, and clear internal promotion routes.
