About us
Founded in 1927, the University of Hull is proud to play a leading role in the educational, social, economic and cultural development of our unique city and region. Our strong sense of place remains at the heart of our identity. The global perspective and expertise of our talented people and our dynamic collaborations with partners locally, nationally and internationally enable us to bring communities together – to enrich lives, address the challenges facing our region and share solutions that are transferable across an increasingly connected world. This union between education, research and knowledge exchange, and between the local and the global, defines our internationally engaged civic university.
As an integral unit within the wider External Relations and Communications directorate, the Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement team is the link between the University and our global alumni community of more than 190,000. It engages and builds connections with alumni through a variety of means including bespoke communications and events as well as providing alumni opportunities to get involved through volunteering. The team raises philanthropic funding for the University from alumni, friends and organisations and works in partnership with University leadership and colleagues across the institution to drive engagement, build and steward relationships and identify funding opportunities.
