We are seeking a Facilities & Operations Manager to join a welcoming and inclusive Department with an exceptional international reputation in teaching and research. The department is large, encompassing 40 research lab-based groups as well as delivering a significant amount of teaching.
The estate is diverse and includes laboratories, bio facilities, an electron microscopy suite, lecture theatres, two Anatomy Centres (human and veterinary), seminar and meeting rooms, as well as offices. The Facilities & Operations Manager will be part of the Department's senior management team, and is responsible primarily for the management and operations of the physical infrastructure and facilities in the Anatomy and Physiology Buildings, and associated staff. The role includes direct line management of six team members, as well as senior management responsibility for a broader team of approximately 20 staff. The post holder will be required to work on site and interact effectively with a wide range of professional services staff, academics, students, and contractors.
We are seeking a versatile individual with excellent problem solving skills as well as a collaborative and hands-on approach to their work. The successful candidate will have a strong building management and/or laboratory and facilities background and significant staff management experience.
