Postdoctoral Scientist (Software Engineer) - Neurobiology - Dr Marco Tripodi - LMB 2571

An opportunity is available for a Software Engineer to join the group of Dr Marco Tripodi at the MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB). The successful candidate will design and develop novel computational pipelines for the acquisition and analysis of behavioural and neurophysiological data, as well as develop a novel standard database structure for the storage and distribution of neurophysiology data. 

The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree in software/electrical/biomedical engineering or a related quantitative discipline, or due to complete within 6 months. Experience in software and hardware design and an interest in neuroscience is desirable, although no formal experience in neuroscience is required. Excellent programming skills (e.g. Python, C++) is required, experience with SQL, high-performance computing, signal processing are highly desirable. 

This is a two-year training and development position suitable for you if you have recently completed your doctoral studies, or you are looking to move into a new research discipline and/or need to further develop your research skills.
