Enquiries Office Administrator

University of Cambridge - Faculty of History

Location: Cambridge
Salary: £24,685 to £27,319
Hours: Full Time
Contract Type: Permanent
Placed On: 22nd December 2025
Closes: 4th January 2026
Job Ref: JJ48381

The Faculty of History has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our Undergraduate Team office as an Enquiries Office Administrator. You will become part of our friendly and supportive team and will oversee the day-to-day running of the Faculty's Enquiries Office, a key information point for students, academic staff and visitors to the Faculty.

Due to the nature of the role you would be expected to work from the Faculty Office Monday to Friday during term time, but opportunities for some hybrid working may be possible during vacation periods.

We are looking for a flexible, resourceful individual with excellent communication and administrative skills and a positive, service-oriented, 'can do' attitude. You will be prepared to work under your own initiative but also be an excellent team player and have a patient but proactive approach to troubleshooting and problem solving. It is vital that you are able to demonstrate a close attention to detail and a high level of accuracy and find it easy to build rapport and communicate clearly across multiple audiences.

Experience of working in a Higher Education environment would be desirable but more important is the ability to learn new skills and develop a knowledge of the Faculty and wider University in order to be able to provide advice to others as required.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with excellent administrative experience to develop new skills in a varied and busy position and to excel in this important role.

We look forward to seeing you explain in your application how you match the criteria for the post and why you are motivated to apply for this role.
