Our culture empowers people to achieve this aim and to collectively, and individually, make a real difference.

The role

We are now seeking to appoint two Lecturers (1x 0.5 FTE and 1x 1.0 FTE) to join the Medical Sciences BSc (Top Up Programme) which will be delivered online. The purpose of this programme will prepare students for entry into Medicine.

While the primary focus of the role is teaching on the Medical Sciences BSc (Top Up Programme), the successful candidate may also contribute - where appropriate and depending on expertise - to teaching, assessment and student support across other levels and programmes in person within the school.

This post represents part of our planned future growth and development as a School. The School has a long tradition of teaching across a breadth of Bioscience disciplines from Sport and Exercise Science, Nutrition, Food Science, and Dietetics to Biochemistry and Microbiology. Examples of our 9 undergraduate degree programmes include Biomedical Science, Biological Science and Veterinary Bioscience.

About you

We are looking to appoint someone who is experienced in handling the challenges associated with transition to medicine and shares the progressive and student-centred teaching philosophy of our existing team.

Successful applicants will have at least a BSc in a relevant subject, will be working towards or have a postgraduate qualification, and will have a teaching qualification or fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA). They will have experience within Higher Education and/or Further Education and a proven track record of creativity and innovative educational practice. Prior experience of teaching at FHEQ levels 6 is also essential.

If you take pride in providing high quality teaching, work to improve methods of delivery and assessment in your field of expertise and are a dynamic, forward thinking team player with a ‘can do’ attitude and an ambition to achieve personally then please get in touch.

What we can offer

In return, we offer an energetic and forward-thinking working environment with access to a variety of staff development opportunities. You will receive a competitive salary and a generous annual leave entitlement. Our package includes a final salary pension scheme and discounted membership to the Surrey Sports Park. The University is easily accessible by road and rail and is a short distance from both Heathrow and Gatwick airports. We are willing to consider fractional appointments if the right candidate cannot commit to full-time employment.

How to apply

To apply, please upload your CV to the University website. You will also be asked to address some statements to help us assess your suitability for the position.

Interviews will be held w/c 23rd February.
