- THE ROLE -
This postholder will contribute to the ambitions of the University’s Health and Wellbeing Strategy and the implementation of a stepped approach to supporting student mental health and wellbeing. They will have an in-depth knowledge of the impact mental health can have on student experience, retention and achievement whilst at university. They will work as part of a team to deliver appropriate support and interventions to enable students to succeed in their studies.
The postholder will manage a busy caseload of students, providing advice and guidance to students with a range of mental health and wellbeing issues in relation to access and inclusion to educational opportunities in line with equalities legislation.
The post holder will contribute to the development of service provision, including operational processes and procedures in order to improve student experience and access to services. They will contribute to the development and delivery of new initiatives to support students to self-manage a range of mental health conditions.
The post holder will work with stakeholders across the university to promote understanding of the impact of wellbeing and mental health issues across the student population, and to support the delivery of an inclusive university experience. They will contribute to the development and delivery of training and initiatives to staff and students in order to advance this work. The post holder will contribute to the ongoing development of university Wellbeing provision and updating of university policies and procedures.
The postholder will liaise with external agencies, including statutory services and make referrals for specialist help and support for students with complex needs and/or students in crisis.
