The Faculty of Education, Health and Human Sciences (FEHHS) is looking for an enthusiastic Senior Events and Marketing Officer (maternity cover).
The role-holder will be responsible for the management of events, including the planning, delivery, evaluation, and reporting of, held within the faculty which include undergraduate and postgraduate open days, offer-holder days as well as student success and other faculty events.
Bringing experience of running successful event, you'll need strong organisational and project management skills, a creative flair for delivering impactful events and a desire to offer excellent customer service. With a keen eye for detail, you will be responsible for shaping and delivering high-quality events. You will need to be able to plan and promote events and deal with all aspects of event administration from logistics (such as floor plans and catering) to event ‘dressing’, from staffing to producing promotional materials and documentation. As well as leading on planning, you will also be a highly visible and proactive lead - able to take charge, direct others and problem-solve on your feet.
You should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and will develop close working relationships with the university’s Marketing and External Relations Directorate (MER) and staff across FEHHS. You will have experience of working successfully in an events environment, ideally in a higher education setting, and will have great people skills and know how to provide excellent customer service as well as being a supportive colleague and team player.
The role also requires a high level of flexibility, the ability to cover events (which may be out-of-normal hours or at weekends) across all three campuses, experience of anticipating problems and identifying solutions, the skills to analyse data, the ability to manage your own workload and projects, and a proactive 'can-do' outlook.
This is a fixed term contract for maternity cover until July 2026.
