As Deputy Head of Strategic Planning (Statutory Reporting & Data Governance), you will be joining the University's Strategic Planning Directorate with the goal to achieve better decision-making across the institution from the analysis, advice and insight we provide, to the trusted relationships we build with stakeholders and the data quality, governance and infrastructure that underpins it. 

Following the expansion of the Directorate last year, now is a great time to join as we look to enhance our contributions to delivering the University Strategy and support exciting new areas of analysis.

We are seeking an outstanding candidate to lead the institution’s statutory reporting function. The role will also be expected to lead on data quality and assurance of statutory data and other relevant data domains.

The successful candidate will be expected to have experience in compiling, completing and data quality assurance on higher education statutory returns such as HESA Student (Data Futures), HESES, HESA Staff, ITT Return and Discover Uni. Experience in working through statutory reporting transformation, including requirements gathering, design and development, within an institutional setting will be an advantage.

The role will operationally engage with and provide managerial oversight of the entire University data lifecycle ensuring high quality data informs our internal analysis and external returns. To facilitate this the post-holder will ensure appropriate governance is in place to oversee the accurate and timely completion and submission of all University data returns.
