An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Director of Clinical Affairs to join the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.

We are seeking an accomplished Clinician or Clinical Academic from within the University of East Anglia (UEA) and/or the Norfolk and Waveney University Hospitals Group (N&WUHG) to take on the role of Director of Clinical Affairs, providing strategic leadership under the direction of the Pro-Vice Chancellor (PVC) for all aspects of clinical affairs within the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences.

This is a pivotal senior role with responsibility for ensuring excellence, sustainability, and innovation in clinical research and education, while strengthening partnerships across the NHS and wider healthcare system.

This leadership post offers a platform to influence the direction of clinical research and education and clinical academic integration at Faculty and system level You will bring together clinical credibility, research and educational leadership, and strategic insight to support high-quality clinical learning environments, workforce development, and mutually beneficial academic–clinical partnerships. 

Alongside your academic leadership role, you will typically remain engaged in clinical practice and/or wider academic activity, ensuring that Faculty strategy remains grounded in contemporary clinical realities. 

The Director of Clinical Affairs will report to the Faculty Pro Vice Chancellor and work closely with Faculty leadership, programme leads, and senior NHS colleagues. The role carries significant influence across research, education, partnerships, and governance, and includes deputising for senior Faculty leadership on clinical matters where required. 

This part-time (0.4 FTE) post is available from 1 May 2026 on an initial term of three years, with the possibility of extension.
