Following the merger of City and St George’s – both component parts of the University of London – in 2024, the combined institution now has over 27000 students and is one of the leading higher education destinations for London students, with excellent research spanning health, business, science and technology, creative industries, law and policy.

A Chief External Relations Officer is now sought to provide strategic leadership to the marketing, communications, branding, recruitment and admissions activities of the University. Working collaboratively with senior leaders to drive performance, the appointee will lead a large and integrated team to continue maximising the results, reputation and recognition of City St George’s across all thes e areas.

Likely with an understanding of the Higher Education sector, ideal candidates will be senior leaders with proven experience in driving successful student recruitment, raising profile, delivering change and enhancing customer service. They will have a track record of successful programme delivery, process improvements, and projects completed on time and within budget. The appointee will combine a strong grasp of financial and resource management with strategic flair and bold ideas.
