The Department of Clinical Neurosciences is seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Accounts Assistant to join the Finance team, providing a full range of accounts administrative duties, following University policy and procedures and best practice in order to achieve accurate input within specified guidelines and against specified deadlines.
The Accounts Assistant will be a primary point of contact and in daily contact with our academic, technical and administrative staff and students, requiring the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, giving advice and support with financial procedures.
Working in close liaison with the rest of the Finance Team, the Accounts Assistant will be supervised by the Chief Accounts Clerk and assist in a range of finance matters, such as accounts receivable & payable, purchasing, general ledger & grant activities. They will collaborate with finance colleagues internally and externally to the University to deliver efficient and friendly finance support.
The successful applicant will be educated at GCSE level/NVQ level 2 or hold an equivalent level of practical experience. It is desirable that you demonstrate knowledge of facts, principles, processes, and general concepts related to Finance / Accounts. They will have experience in Microsoft Office and be an effective communicator with attention to detail.
Possibility of undertaking distance learning AAT qualification.
The role is based on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus and on confirmation of your appointment, the successful candidate will adopt the Department's hybrid working model, consisting of days of work at home and days of work alongside other members of the Operations Team on site.
