Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield
Main duties and responsibilities
To undertake teaching, learning and assessment, design engaging teaching activities, and set and mark formative and summative assessments to support student learning. To inform curriculum development, including revising existing modules and contributing to new modules, teaching methods, assessments, and related marketing materials. To attend and contribute to meetings and, where applicable, Module Boards of Examiners. To provide academic and pastoral support as a personal tutor and facilitate communication with students and University departments. To support Open Days, Induction events and other promotional activities and undertake research and scholarly activities as appropriate as well as carry out any other duties required by the Dean.
Skills and experience required
The postholder must possess sufficient breadth or depth of specialist knowledge in pharmacy practice to work within established teaching programmes. They must have an appreciation of the educational needs of students and an ability to communicate effectively, clearly and supportively with both students and academic colleagues. You must also have excellent IT skills. A willingness to attract external funding would be desirable.
Qualifications required
Minimum of an undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification in Pharmacy and currently registered on Part 1 of the General Pharmaceutical Council Register are essential. A postgraduate qualification, i.e. Masters and/or PhD, (completed or close to completion within 3 months of viva) in a relevant field or equivalent and have an Associate Fellowship of Advance HE (formerly the HEA) would be advantageous.
