Senior Research Fellow (Full time)

The Role

We are recruiting to the role of Senior Research Fellow to join our supportive and collegial research team. The postholder will have an opportunity to contribute to a major European initiative on developing mental health and wellbeing in Europe.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading and managing the University of Roehampton’s contribution to the EU Horizon project ‘Together for Mental Health: A scalable, participatory and evidence-based mental health toolbox for Europe’ (awarded £4m in total), ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of all assigned work package.
• Collaborating with international partners across work packages, contributing to the overall integration, scalability, and impact of the project.
• Taking primary responsibility for the design, coordination, and delivery of ‘Work Package 3’, involving the systematic identification, review, and synthesis of evidence-based mental health resources from academic, policy, and practice-based sources.
• Contribute substantially to ‘Work Package 5’, leading the development and delivery of a UK-based secondary school case study.

The successful candidate will have skills and experience in:

• PhD or professional doctorate with a substantial empirical research component
• Strong knowledge of applied mental health research, particularly in education settings.
• Understanding of evidence synthesis methods (e.g. systematic or scoping reviews) and translation of research into practice.
• Expertise in participatory and co-creation methodologies, including stakeholder engagement and lived-experience approaches.
• Ability to design, implement, and evaluate complex intervenntions with attention to inclusion, equality and cultural responsiveness.
