About the role
As part of the College Professional Services management team, you will be responsible for the operational planning, management and delivery of student-engagement processes for all taught students in the College.
This includes: management of engagement, attendance and casework processes; oversight of service delivery and team performance; provision of advice and guidance on engagement policies; and line management of Student Engagement Team Leaders, Administrators and Assistants.
Reporting to and working closely with the College Student Experience Manager, you will support the delivery of the College’s student-experience strategy through the effective management of engagement processes. You will work collaboratively with counterparts across other Colleges and key teams in Student and Academic Services to review, develop and embed engagement systems that support a diverse and inclusive student community, including on-campus, distance-learning, apprenticeship and partnership provision.
About you
We are looking for a candidate with a proven understanding of the student lifecycle and associated support processes, gained through work in higher education or another complex, regulated environment. The successful candidate will be experienced in interpreting and applying regulations, policies and procedures, and in providing clear, accurate advice to others to ensure compliance in student engagement processes.
The role requires experience of managing records in large-scale databases or student record systems, with a focus on accuracy, compliance and data quality. Experience of working with complex IT systems, such as enquiry management or student record systems, to manage workflows and analyse outcomes is essential. You will be able to use digital tools and data analysis methods, including spreadsheets, dashboards and databases, to monitor performance, interpret data and inform decision-making, with the ability to translate analysis into practical improvements.
The role requires effective collaboration with academic and professional services colleagues, and the ability to build and maintain productive working relationships. Experience of line management or staff supervision, including allocating work and supporting staff development, is required.
