About the Role
As Lecturer in Digital Marketing & AI, you'll join the Department of Marketing to develop a strong research profile at the intersection of digital marketing, consumer behaviour, analytics and AI. You'll deliver research-informed teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, contribute to curriculum development in your field, and supervise student research projects. Alongside this, you'll pursue high-quality publications, external funding applications, and PhD supervision, while playing a collegial role within a growing, research-active department.
About You
You're an academic with clear potential to build a strong research profile in digital marketing, AI, marketing analytics or consumer behaviour. You hold, or are close to completing, a PhD in Marketing, Information Systems, Business and Management or a related discipline, plus HE teaching accreditation (or the ability to obtain it). You bring a track record of quality research at national and ideally international level, some experience delivering teaching at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level, and clear, ambitious research plans. You communicate complex ideas effectively and can develop competitive funding proposals.
About the School
SBM is one of five schools in QMUL's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, home to around 150 academic staff across five departments. It's a large, research-active community with a diverse international student body, ranked 22nd of 108 UK business schools for research quality and 12th for impact in REF 2021. The Department of Marketing combines strong research credentials with a commitment to research-informed teaching. Joining SBM means being part of Queen Mary's Strategy 2030 vision to become the most inclusive university of its kind, with strong staff benefits including 30 days' annual leave and a competitive pension.
About Queen Mary
At Queen Mary University of London, we believe that a diversity of ideas helps us achieve the previously unthinkable.
Throughout our history, we’ve fostered social justice and improved lives through academic excellence. And we continue to live and breathe this spirit today, not because it’s simply ‘the right thing to do’ but for what it helps us achieve and the intellectual brilliance it delivers.
We continue to embrace diversity of thought and opinion in everything we do, in the belief that when views collide, disciplines interact, and perspectives intersect, truly original thought takes form.
Benefits
We offer competitive salaries, access to a generous pension scheme, 30 days’ leave per annum (pro-rata for part-time/fixed-term), a season ticket loan scheme and access to a comprehensive range of personal and professional development opportunities. In addition, we offer a range of work life balance and family friendly, inclusive employment policies, flexible working arrangements, and campus facilities.
Queen Mary’s commitment to our diverse and inclusive community is embedded in our appointments processes. Reasonable adjustments will be made at each stage of the recruitment process for any candidate with a disability. We are open to considering applications from candidates wishing to work flexibly.
