Applications are invited from outstanding researchers to be appointed to an academic Lectureship in the chemistry of metal organic frameworks and related porous materials. We welcome applications from candidates whose research interests lie in the characterisation and applications of functional materials for substrate storage, separation and catalysis. The post-holder will be required to work collaboratively with the existing research group led by Professor Martin Schröder to pursue original research and deliver internationally leading and rigorous outputs, secure external funding, and to work with national facilities. The post will suit candidates who wish to fully develop their independent academic career in the future.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of high-quality research outputs and be able to show commitment to the delivery of teaching and research excellence. The successful candidate will be required to carry out teaching at undergraduate and graduate level, together with administrative and other reasonable duties as required, and manage interdisciplinary research collaborations, particularly with national facilities.

Candidates must hold a doctorate in chemistry or appropriate related subject and be motivated with excellent interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills.

The post will be based in the Chemistry Building, The University of Manchester, Oxford Road, Manchester, M13 9PL, UK.
