Birkbeck, University of London, is seeking a highly organised and proactive Project Manager to support the delivery of a major research project, Contragestive Time, funded by the Wellcome Trust.

The project brings together clinicians, social scientists, lawyers, philosophers, humanities scholars and advocates to rethink concepts of early pregnancy and reproductive timing; challenge outdated legal and regulatory frameworks; test the feasibility of new clinical services; and engage with the public and policymakers to shape a more inclusive future for fertility control.

Based at Birkbeck, in the School of Social Sciences, the Project Manager is a pivotal role, leading on the planning and coordination of the project’s 6 research work-packages, and the delivery of their outputs.

You will work closely with the Principal Investigator, Lisa Baraitser, and the co-Investigators based at a number of different universities and partner institutions, as well as with a range of external stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of the project, with responsibility for a wide range of project planning, coordination, and financial tasks.

You will be part of a collaborative and supportive team, contributing to the success of an internationally significant programme of research.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong project coordination skills, communication skills, and a passion for making a difference. 

Salary and benefits:

£25,865 rising to £30,429 per annum, 0.5 FTE (pro-rated £51,713 rising to £60,858 per annum). Grade 8 on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated London Weighting Allowance.

Contract:

Fixed-term (42 months to April 2030), part-time, (17.5 hours a week), Monday to Friday - based in the office or work remotely, but must be available for in person meetings in London and in other UK locations.
