About the role

The Global Engagement Administrator (GEA) provides administrative and operational support for the School’s Global Engagement and International Programmes, contributing to its Global Engagement Strategy.

The role supports international partnerships, student mobility and international programmes, including overseas travel of up to eight weeks annually. Working with the Global Engagement and International Programmes teams, the post holder coordinates travel, meetings and visits, liaises with international partners and internal stakeholders, and supports the effective delivery of global engagement activities.

The role also supports inbound and outbound student mobility and international events. It requires excellent organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across a diverse international network and provide a high standard of service in a fast-paced environment.

Fluency in written and spoken Mandarin and a strong understanding of Asian business etiquette are essential, particularly to support strategic engagement across East Asia and China.

About you

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in higher education and international engagement, working with academic staff, students, overseas universities and senior international stakeholders to support strategic partnerships and institutional relationships.

You will have proven experience providing high-level administrative and operational support, including coordinating international engagements, managing complex travel arrangements, accompanying overseas visits and liaising with local representatives.

Excellent written and spoken Mandarin, strong communication skills and a sound understanding of Asian business culture and etiquette are essential. You should demonstrate success in delivering student-focused international initiatives and building effective relationships with academic staff, students and international partners through excellent customer service.

You will be highly organised, able to manage competing priorities, meet tight deadlines and work flexibly in a fast-paced international environment. A degree or equivalent experience is required, alongside a willingness to undertake frequent overseas travel, including additional hours and weekend working where necessary.

Applicants should consult the full job description, person specification and Candidate Guidance document and use examples in their supporting statement to demonstrate how they meet the essential criteria.
