About the Role
The Mechanical Maintenance Manager is part of Estates Maintenance Operations and reports to the Head of Maintenance Operations. The role leads a multidisciplinary in-house mechanical maintenance team and oversees specialist contractors delivering services across the University estate. The post works closely with other Maintenance teams, Estates colleagues, capital and minor works teams, customers, suppliers and contractors to maintain statutory compliance, service continuity and the long-term reliability and efficiency of mechanical assets.

About You
You will lead and manage the Mechanical Services section and specialist maintenance contractors, ensuring that statutory, planned and reactive maintenance is delivered safely, cost effectively and in accordance with agreed service standards and key performance indicators. The role is accountable for the operation and maintenance of complex mechanical building services across the University estate, including heating, ventilation, environmental systems and associated infrastructure, and for functional compliance relating to natural gas, pressure systems, local exhaust ventilation, F-Gas, water systems and bulk storage.
