We are seeking exceptional candidates to join our team in the role of Project Engineer to participate in the development and enhancement of virtual prototypes and virtual environments using specialist tools and graphics software to support engineering applications and SME development programmes. You will be motivated and able to contribute to the development of capability in Virtual Engineering and support the growth of the Centre. You will join a multidisciplinary team focusing on: Design optimisation, manufacture and assembly, finite element analysis, and computational fluid dynamics; Control and simulation, synthetic environments; Virtual reality/augmented reality facility development; Systems architecture for distribution simulation.

You should have A PhD in Engineering/Computer Science and substantial experience in: The general field of virtual systems/digital (ideally at PhD level) with particular emphasis on virtual test; One of the many computer-aided engineering disciplines of the VEC, e.g. CFD, FEA, CAD, MSB, crash/safety, optimisation, factory simulation and the use of multi-core clusters, integration with CAD, and multi-physics solutions.

This post is part-funded by European Regional Development Fund, as part of the England 2014 to 2020 European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme and is available from 1 August 2018 until 31 July 2020.
