You will undertake research on peace-building, conflict transformation, victims, social justice, legal structures of peace-building and restorative justice. Knowledge of these themes as they pertain to Northern Ireland would be useful but not necessary. You will collate material, write drafts and engage in related research activities. You should understand key theories of conflict transformation and also be appreciative of their application in divided societies. The successful candidate will be comfortable with researching comparative aspects of social justice and peace-building and would join the Transforming Conflict research theme. Knowledge of and a capacity to use datasets would also be desirable. You would also be expected to aid projects and events delivered by the Institute of Irish Studies.
