The Operations and Information Management Department is organized in five teams– Systems Modelling and Simulation, Business Analytics, Operations Management, Global ICT Management and the Advanced Services Group. The OIM Department conducts research, teaching and learning in various aspects of Operations, Analytics and IS/ICT and operations research and service innovation. There is a thriving research and innovative culture in the Department, which has a strong reputation for being rigorous and relevant. We support participation in international conferences and supervision of PhDs via the Dean’s scholarships, and actively support business engagement, executive education and consulting opportunities.
As part of our growth strategy, we are seeking an inspirational and highly motivated individual to contribute to the development of the Department’s teaching, research and enterprise activities. We welcome discussions with prospective candidates with interests in the areas of : innovative business models for complex service delivery, use of digital twins, data driven business models, data analytics for services, improving customer experience and service quality, service excellence models, service ecosystems, humanitarian services, ethics in services, global circular economy, value stream mapping, cognitive computing, IT/ICT support for services, managing complex and advanced services, service performance measurement.
We are keen to discuss new ideas in order to strengthen our learning and teaching profile and complement our research and business support provision.
You will have a good first degree, or equivalent, as well as post graduate qualifications in a relevant academic discipline.
You must also be able to demonstrate an emerging scholarly path through practical relevant work experience, teaching and learning activities, and consulting projects. Publication of outputs and creation of impacts in industry or society is highly desirable.
The OIM Department is especially looking to recruit people with a ‘hands-on and can-do’ attitude. Although this is primarily a teaching post the OIM Department is looking for people who can contribute to research in their specialist areas and can lead learning and teaching innovations and industry and society engagements.
