We are seeking an outstanding individual to make a contribution to teaching, knowledge transfer, innovation and research within the areas of Databases and Web development.
You will be joining the Smart Computing group, which is responsible for the delivery of Computing degrees that develop technical knowledge and skills to design, build and support IT solutions that address the needs of organisations. The group has a strong record knowledge transfer, with many links to local industry through the Sheffield Innovation Programme.
You will be responsible for delivering a high-quality learning experience to students and contributing to the development of new and exciting courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You will be expected to be involved in module leadership and delivery, to contribute specialist topics, to supervise dissertations, liaise with industrial partners and to engage in academic and applied research.
As well as the ability to inspire, enthuse and connect with a range of stakeholders e.g. students and external clients from a wide range of backgrounds, you'll need well-developed and current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical and theoretical issues relevant to at least one major area of computing. You must have a Master's degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience and expertise in database systems design and implementation.
