Applications are invited for the above post based of Postgraduate Research Administrator based at the School of Medicine Education Centre, Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham. This role will provide administrative support for all aspects of Postgraduate Research education and the Doctoral Programmes Committee in the School of Medicine.  The School has in region of 700 Postgraduate Research students based across several sites – Nottingham, Derby and Lincoln.

The role holder will work closely with senior academic and administrative staff, internal and external to the School. The purpose of the role is to assist in administration of the School of Medicine Postgraduate Research students while ensuring the implementation of the School’s operational and quality assurance processes. The role holder will be required to gain a detailed understanding of the systems which are core to the operation of the department, ensuring the accuracy of all data held within. It will be the responsibility of the role holder to maintain accurate and up to date systems vital to the delivery of Postgraduate Research education.

The successful candidate will have a good standard of general education including GCSE English Grade C (or equivalent) and considerable experience in a relevant role, or a proven track record of substantial relevant vocational experience demonstrated through previously held administrative roles. They will be excited about making a positive difference to the student experience and will be able to demonstrate highly effective communication skill. They will also demonstrate excellent organisational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks and bring strong attention to detail.  An understanding of the current challenges affecting student education and experience is also important.

This post is permanent position. Hours of work are full-time (36.25 hours per week), however job share arrangements may be considered.
