At NFER we work on a number of classroom evaluation work that covers teaching methods and leading the Covid19 recovery work which includes the evaluation of the National Tutoring Programme; a scheme that provides additional, targeted support for children and young people in schools who have been most affected by disruption to their education as a result of the pandemic.

As the Senior Evaluation Analyst, you’ll take control of the whole design of projects, using cutting edge quantitative evaluation methods and econometric techniques to evaluate complex educational initiatives and interventions.

You’ll collaborate with Project Leaders, Statisticians and Economists to ensure the most robust evaluation is delivered within the budget available. You’ll support our expertise in evaluation design, to secure external or internal funding for research projects in the UK and from time-to-time internationally. We are seen as experts in our field and our robust findings influence decision makers and key stakeholders to ensure education delivers the best-in-class service to its learners.

Requirements

- First degree or equivalent in a subject with a high quantitative/econometrics content
- Strong experience in evaluation research and the use of quantitative methods
- Experienced user of statistical software, for example STATA, SPSS, R, MPlus and MLWin
- Ability to take responsibility for the quantitative design and analysis within evaluation research projects
- Effective communicator both verbally and written, with experience of drafting research reports and/or publications as an author
- Ability to work with a considerable degree of autonomy and to consistently meet deadlines
- Ability to work effectively in a team
