Job Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join Imperial College London’s International Relations Office (IRO) - a busy, highly-visible central unit responsible for supporting the development and delivery of the College’s international engagement with academic partners and overseas governments.
We are seeking to appoint a motivated individual to the position of International Relations Office Assistant to help support the efficient operation of the International Relations Office (IRO) and the delivery of high profile events and programmes.
This is an important administrative support position where you will use your excellent communication skills to support the IRO team and liaise with staff and students across the College. The successful applicant should be enthusiastic, willing to learn, detail-orientated, have strong communication skills and demonstrate an interest in international affairs.
As a member of a 10-12 person team, you should welcome change and be prepared to work flexibly across different team activities as they will be expected to undertake a wide range of administrative tasks. This position offers unique International Relations administration experience in the busy central office of one of the World’s most international universities.
Duties and responsibilities
Events and Programme Support
You will assist with the delivery of high profile IRO events on campus: including visits from international stakeholders and delegations, international science and technology conferences, international scholarship receptions. You will also assist with student programmes including lab placements and exchanges, and offer support for outgoing international travel by IRO delegations.
Office support and database coordination
You will be responsible for key administrative functions which underpin the effectiveness of the busy International Relations Office. This includes maintaining databases (e.g customer relationship management), arranging and coordinating meetings internally and externally, assisting in the production and circulation of agendas, minutes and papers.
