We are looking for a highly motivated Association Manager to support the Society for the Scientific Study of Reading (SSSR). 

SSSR was founded in 1993. The current President, Prof Kate Cain, is located at Lancaster University in the Department of Psychology. The Association Manager will provide leadership and co-ordination in the administration of the Society for the Scientific Study of Reading (SSSR), and to manage the interactions with the membership through the committee procedures, adhering to the bylaws of the Society, as well as wider engagement with the global community of users of research. The post-holder will liaise with the Executive Board (Vice President, President Elect, President, and Past President) and Elected Officers of the Society, primarily through the President (currently based at Lancaster University) to meet its objectives. The Association Manager duties include: (1) ongoing support for the society committees (currently Awards, Membership, and Publications), the SSSR Treasurer, and the Executive Board meetings; (2) management of the society website and social media accounts; (3) the organization and co-ordination of an international conference (350-700 delegates) each year, including management of the paper submission and review process, programme schedule, online conference app, registration etc.; and (4) supporting the leadership to undertake a strategic review and restructure of committees, revise of bylaws, and develop and implement communications plan.

Experience of working with administration, communications, or event planning would be an advantage.
