The Department of Education is looking to appoint an administrative assistant to provide administrative support for the Excluded Lives Research Project. The post holder will be the first point of contact for enquiries about the research project, assisting in producing and maintaining a number of sources of information on the website and managing publications including adding publications to Mendeley. They will be required to maintain the Excluded Lives Twitter account, including posting content and responding to messages, and make administrative arrangements for fieldwork, training, events and conferences. They will also maintain mailing lists, compile agendas and draft minutes for team meetings, and update and maintain the data management plan in conjunction with the Principal Investigator and Project Manager.
The successful candidate will have experience of managing administrative processes and of working as part of a team in an office environment, with the ability to organise events, work independently with minimal supervision, and the ability to organise own workload and work to deadlines. This will be evidenced through formal qualifications (BTEC, ND, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) and/or significant work experience. They must also have the ability to use standard computer programs including Microsoft Office, have experience of using a database and experience using social media such as Twitter.
