The Guildhall School of Music & Drama is situated in the heart of the City of London and is internationally recognised as one of the leading conservatoires for training of musicians, actors, stage managers and theatre technicians.
The Performance Venues Department is now recruiting a suitably qualified Workshop Technician to provide high quality technical support and maintenance for all Guildhall School venue equipment and assets, ensuring the highest levels of service to staff, students and other venue users.
The successful candidate will join a multi-skilled team covering all disciplines and we anticipate interviewing candidates from a variety of backgrounds. Responsibilities include monitoring and maintaining Guildhall School technical stage equipment by undertaking diagnostic testing, planned and preventative maintenance and the supervision of repairs by external contractors as appropriate. The ability to work with and inspire young people whilst maintaining a safe working environment is essential. Applicants must have experience of electrical and electronic assembly and service, specifically related to theatre and audio-visual equipment, preferably gained in a performance or staging environment. A relevant qualification is essential, along with working knowledge and an understanding of Asset Management Systems, and regular office/communication software packages.
